About the Role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team in West London. This role exists to carry out planned and reactive servicing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of crematory and ancillary equipment at customer sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment while delivering a high standard of customer service. This opportunity would suit a candidate who is able to meet business and customer requirements while representing the company professionally in the field who is looking to join a stable, international engineering business with long-term growth plans.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault diagnosis, and repair of crematory and ancillary equipment at customer sites.
  • Carry out inspections, complete detailed service reports, and provide clear recommendations for remedial actions or improvements.
  • Ensure all servicing records are accurately completed and maintained in line with company procedures and systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with company safety procedures, industry regulations, and site-specific requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, internal teams, and management regarding job progress, findings, and technical issues.
  • Work closely with departmental managers and colleagues to support continuous improvement initiatives across service operations.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration while maintaining a professional company image at all times.
  • Maintain flexibility to support business and customer requirements, including travel, overnight stays, and emergency call-outs where required.
  • Safely use tools, equipment, and company vehicles in accordance with company policy.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and provide technical feedback to engineering and support teams.
  • Ensure all documentation, including service reports and job sheets, are completed accurately and submitted promptly.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or field service environment.
  • Proven fault-finding experience on industrial equipment.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Dual-skilled (electrical and mechanical) background.
  • Experience in combustion, incineration, cremation, or thermal processing industries.
  • Experience with gas or oil-fired systems.
  • Previous field service engineering experience.

Working Pattern & Travel

  • Full time, 43 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Home based with extensive travel to client sites. UK and occasional overseas travel as required.

Salary

  • Up to £45,000 per annum. Dependent on experience.
