We’re recruiting a customer-focused, technically curious, and proactive Field Service Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys:

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll act as a trusted technical expert, supporting our customers across your North London territory to ensure their diagnostic systems perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission Abbott Molecular systems at customer sites
  • Deliver preventative maintenance, hardware servicing, software upgrades, and system repairs
  • Troubleshoot technical issues—both remotely and on-site—providing timely and effective solutions
  • Support customers through training, guidance, and system updates
  • Collaborate with Application Specialists, Customer Support, and Commercial teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Build strong relationships with laboratories and healthcare professionals as a valued partner
  • Participate in technical workshops, expert forums, and service meetings to continuously develop your expertise
  • Provide service support across your designated territory, occasionally assisting colleagues in other regions
  • Act as an ambassador for Abbott, embodying our commitment to improving lives through science and innovation

About You

Requirements & Background

  • A relevant degree, HNC/HND, diploma, or equivalent qualification in:
    • Scientific
    • Engineering
    • Biomedical
    • Healthcare
    • Laboratory-related fields
  • Previous experience in:
    • Technical support
    • Engineering
    • Diagnostics
    • Healthcare technology
    • Laboratory environments
    • Customer-facing technical roles
  • Strong English communication skills (additional languages are beneficial but not essential)
  • Full driving licence
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time throughout the assigned territory
