We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer (UK North), who will provide professional field service support for Molecular Devices products, performing to agreed service levels for all customers within the assigned territory. This will include installations, service repair and preventative maintenance for Molecular Devices instruments.

The successful applicant will join a team of dedicated Field Service Professionals, contributing to our success by utilizing critical thinking to analyze and solve problems, implementing suitable solutions. They will consistently provide timely, high quality, on-site troubleshooting and maintenance services for high-performance bio-analytical measurement and research instrumentation.
This position reports to the EU West Field Service Manager and is part of the Field Service team and will be working remotely to cover the North of the UK and Scotland.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Become proficient in the support of our world class products so that you can provide consistent, world class services and support to our customers.
- Take responsibility for assigned customer service inquiries, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance and OQ schedules.
- Support our customer to fast-track scientific discoveries, as you help us pave the way for advanced disease detection, drug discovery, and therapeutic development, crucial for improving human health and wellness.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Minimum 3 years of Industry relevant work experience in a similar role
- Good mechanical, electronics, and electrical experience and knowledge of assembly level fault detection and testing (Instrument specific training will be provided).
- Applicants must be customer focused, able to communicate well and able to work independently, taking ownership of issues from beginning to end.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel – Minimum of 80% utilization. Regular overnight travel will be required, within UK and Ireland. With occasional travel to other locations for training and to assist other service teams, as the need arises.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- IT, computer and network management
- Cellular Imaging Products diagnostics and repairs
- Working in a Lab environment
