Field Service Engineer Oxfordshire
**Field Service Engineer (Waters Advanced Diagnostics) – NHS & Private Sector Support
About the Role
As a result of the combination of the BD Biosciences and Diagnostic Solutions business with Waters Corporation, applying for this role means joining Waters, a global leader in life sciences committed to accelerating scientific breakthroughs.
Help accelerate discovery by supporting NHS and private-sector microbiology laboratories. Work across a full product range, including:
- Total Lab Automation
- Blood Culture Systems
- Molecular Diagnostic Instruments
- Cytology Systems
Your role will involve installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and corrective service activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Main Responsibilities
- Install and commission instrumentation on time and to specification
- Conduct preventive maintenance to planned schedules and quality standards
- Independently resolve corrective service issues while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company procedures
- Provide exceptional customer experience through technical expertise, clear communication, rapid response, and high system uptime
- Generate accurate, timely service reports using an iPad-based application
- Manage consignment and car stock efficiently to ensure availability and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

Requirements
Essential
- Electrical/Electronic qualification (HNC, HND, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Background in electro-mechanical, electronic, or related engineering
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities for complex hardware and integrated IT systems
- Essential experience with:
- IT infrastructure and networked environments (TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS)
- Windows operating systems and device configuration
- Network connectivity troubleshooting
- System integration and software-driven equipment support
- Ability to diagnose both physical and network-related faults in a field service setting
- Excellent customer-facing communication and stakeholder engagement
- Adaptable, solution-focused mindset with a drive to efficiently resolve issues
- Growth mindset with a proactive approach to learning
- Team collaborator with a service-oriented approach
Preferred (Optional Skills)
- Advanced knowledge of software and system installations

Salary & Benefits
- £43,000 – £50,000 annually (plus car allowance, bonus, pension, and other benefits)
- Location: GBR Winscharge – Eskdale Road (primary)
