Field Service Engineer
Role: Field Service Engineer Location: Oxfordshire (based at Aldridge Service Centre) Hours: 45 hours per week | Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 16:30 Salary: Up to £48,578.40 pa DOE
About the Role
Are we looking for a proactive and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our Aftermarket team? This is a mobile role where you’ll be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our vehicles are safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment
- Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department of Transport (DoT) specifications
- Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues
- Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records
- Travel to customer sites across the UK (including short-notice travel)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide exceptional service
- Support health and safety practices, including risk assessments

Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as Field Service, HGV Mechanic, or Workshop Engineer
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards
- Comfortable working independently and managing workloads effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel
- General computer literacy and the ability to complete technical documentation
Nice to Have (Bonus):
- Experience with electric vehicles
- IRTEC qualification
- HGV Class 2 Licence
