General Summary
This position is to provide field service support at customer sites located both in the UK and globally, including offshore installations. The role covers all aspects of field service, from:
- Plant installation and commissioning
- Fault finding
- Pump or cartridge removal
Extended on-site attendance during mobilisations is expected, with complete pump dismantling and generation of detailed strip and inspection reports being key requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake investigation and troubleshooting at customer premises to identify operational problems, providing information, digital photographs and reports.
- Removal or supervision of pump removal from sites for transfer to the Service Centre as required.
- Installation and commissioning of pumping equipment after overhaul or new from the factory.
- Condition and performance monitoring activities.
- Dismantling pumping plant, cartridge removal and producing detailed strip/inspection reports, including dimensional checks and digital photographs either on-site or in a local workshop.
- Re-assembly of pumping machinery on-site or in the Service Centre, using new spare parts or agreed refurbishment techniques.
- Supervision of contractors or client personnel to fulfil contract scope as needed.
- Produce daily and technical reports after project completion.
- Assembly of pumps and pump sets within factory manufacturing plants.
- Ensure adherence to all Corporate Environmental, Health & Safety guidelines and project requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Core competencies required include:
- Fundamental knowledge of pumps and associated equipment
- Background in field or workshop service of rotating machinery
- Experience in commissioning rotating equipment (preferably in-test facilities)
- Proficiency with light workshop machinery (e.g., drills, milling machines, lathes)
- Customer-facing communication skills for machinery assessments
- "Can do" attitude and resilience under pressure
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- 'Writing technical reports and correspondence with clarity
- 'Verbal presentation skills for customer/employee audiences
- Strong teamwork and self-sufficiency, both internal and external
- Hazards/risk assessments expertise
- Willingness to travel for extended periods (weeks at a time)
- Health and safety understanding, including risk assessment completion
- Exceptional English language skills (verbal and written)
Education and Experience
- Time-served mechanical apprenticeship is essential
- Valid right to work in the UK and capability to obtain security clearance required for application.
