Role Overview

As a Field Service Engineer specialising in Retail, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our cutting-edge equipment used by retail clients. Your expertise will ensure minimal downtime and maximum performance for our customers’ operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely while being part of a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of weighing, labelling, and retail equipment.
  • Diagnose technical issues efficiently and carry out effective troubleshooting to minimise customer disruption.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by liaising directly with clients, understanding their needs, and providing clear communication.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates reliably.
  • Keep detailed records of service activities, parts used, and customer interactions using company systems.
  • Collaborate with the internal support team to escalate complex technical problems and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, product updates, and industry standards relevant to retail equipment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role, ideally within retail technology or related sectors.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work on electronic, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building positive customer relationships.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South region as required.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in electronics, IT, or engineering are advantageous.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent service calls when necessary.
