# Field Service Engineer – Robotics & Mechatronics

The Company

A leading and highly respected manufacturer of robotic packaging machines, specialising in high-speed packaging for the food, confectionery, pharma, and cosmetics industries. As the company expands its presence in the UK, it is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join its team and uphold its reputation for excellence in customer service.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Service (UK), the successful candidate will require a background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver under pressure—both independently and as part of a wider team. This role offers the chance to work with a global leader in the field, which has ambitious growth targets for its business and team.


Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and corrective action planning for the company’s equipment across customer sites.
  • Collaborate with customer stakeholders to fostering strong, proactive customer relationships.
  • Engage with customers’ operatives and maintenance teams to deliver training and development programs.
  • Build cross-functional relationships internally to ensure high-level customer satisfaction.
  • Champion the company’s culture of excellence in customer service across every stage of the customer journey.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, both internally and externally, embodying and promoting the company’s values and culture.

Requirements

  • A Higher qualification (HND or above) in Engineering.
  • Proven experience in Mechatronics or Electronics (preferably within automation).
  • Strong preference for knowledge of food industry automation (desirable).
  • A track record of troubleshooting and problem-solving in complex systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in managing customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated, with clear communication and a passion for long-term customer retention.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland, including occasional overnight stays for installations and servicing.

  • Salary: £47,000–£50,000 (dependent on experience).
  • Overtime earning potential: Up to £10,000 per annum.
