Taunton (Somerset Patch)
Are you a Field Service Engineer from a security background looking for a varied role covering a local patch within a rapidly growing company offering overtime, a company vehicle, and the opportunity to progress within the business?
Over the last decade, this company has been providing a wide range of safety and security solutions, from access control to surveillance systems, across both residential and commercial sectors. This has enabled them to grow to a £1 million turnover, and they are now looking to add another Field Service Engineer to their tight-knit team.
In this field-based role, you will start your day from the depot before travelling across a Somerset patch with other engineers to install, commission, service, and maintain a range of security solutions, including automated gates, access control systems, and electronic security equipment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
