Field Service Engineer – UK, South

Our field service engineers are instrumental in providing a first-class customer experience when repairing and maintaining our products on customer sites.

We're seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to join our team primarily supporting our Breast and Skeletal Health medical imaging equipment across the South and South East regions of the UK. Applicants should ideally be based within the Worthing–Southampton corridor or surrounding areas.

We're looking for candidates with engineering experience (electrical/mechanical preferred) who thrive in fieldwork, enjoy troubleshooting, and love finding solutions.


Role Details

This role focuses on providing a high level of service to customers for the installation, repair, service, maintenance, or enhancement of hardware and/or software products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repair work on Hologic products
  • Install instruments at customer sites
  • Liaise with customer IT departments and assist with information systems installations and troubleshooting
  • Support marketing activities such as exhibitions
  • Perform routine administrative work, including but not limited to:
    • Time Reports
    • Expense Reports
    • Equipment Site Assessments
    • Inventory Reports
    • Equipment Checklists
    • Field Service Reports
  • Provide basic use/maintenance training to customers
  • Perform duties and responsibilities with autonomy in a field-based environment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

✔ Troubleshooting skills for electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems ✔ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills ✔ Experience in similar customer-based or laboratory environments ✔ Strong Time Management Skills ✔ Ability to accurately diagnose issues based on descriptions from Field Service Engineers/customers ✔ Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) ✔ Basic knowledge of networks and interfacing with proficiency potential through training

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Salary: GBP 35,000 – 48,000 per year (gross, depending on experience, skills, and alignment with internal pay structures) 📝 Additional benefits include a pension scheme and insurance.

Exhibition season bonus discretionary. Hybrid/Home working flexible on basis of requirement.
