Field Service Engineer – UK, South
Our field service engineers play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional customer experience through the repair and maintenance of our products at customer sites.
We are seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to join our team, primarily focusing on supporting Breast and Skeletal Health medical imaging equipment across the South and South East regions of the UK. The ideal candidate will preferably be based within the Worthing–Southampton corridor or nearby areas.
We are looking for candidates with engineering experience (focus on electrical/mechanical fields), who enjoy field work and troubleshooting technical challenges to deliver customer-facing solutions.
The role involves delivering a high level of service for the installation, repair, servicing, maintenance, or enhancement of both hardware and software products.
About the Role
- Join a team with comprehensive training and ongoing development
- Offer support across Michel Imaging sites, especially in Breast and Skeletal Health
- Work closely with customers and IT departments for seamless installations and troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance and repair work on Hologic products
- Install instruments at customer sites
- Liaise and collaborate with customer IT departments, troubleshooting information systems
- Assist with marketing activities, such as trade exhibitions
- Prepare and submit administrative reports, including:
- Time Reports
- Expense Reports
- Equipment Site Assessments
- Inventory Reports
- Equipment Checklists
- Field Service Reports
- Offer basic training and support for product usage and maintenance
- Operate independently in a field-based environment, managing tasks autonomously
Requirements
Applicants should possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Experience working in customer-facing or laboratory environments
- Exceptional time management skills
- Competence in diagnosing technical issues based on verbal descriptions from customers or field engineers
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of network infrastructure and system integration, with willingness to progress via training
