Field Service Installation Engineer
**Permanent – £46,000 Basic + Overtime, Expenses & TOIL – Extensive International Travel
About the Role
Navis Consulting are seeking a practical, solutions-focused engineer to install, service, and maintain commercial laundry and warewash chemical dosing equipment onboard cruise ships worldwide.
This is a hands-on role suited to those who enjoy problem-solving, working in diverse environments, and delivering excellence in customer service.
Key Details:
- Location: Flexible UK-based, with preference for candidates near Poole
- Travel: ~75% onboard cruise ships; trips last 2–4 weeks, with holiday time in lieu
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing chemical dosing equipment for commercial laundry and warewash systems
- Conducting fault-finding, diagnostics, and safety checks on installed machinery
- Working with electrical and plumbing systems in a cruise ship environment
- Supporting onboard projects alongside project managers, engineers, and contractors
- Prepping equipment, accessories, and consumables for installation and maintenance
- Incorporating service reports and technical documentation accurately and promptly
- Providing technical support and training to customers, where required
- Building strong customer relationships through professional, high-quality service

Requirements & Qualifications
- City & Guilds 17th Edition Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a field-based or hands-on engineering role
- Experience with 3-phase equipment
- Exceptional fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong organisation, communication, and customer service skills
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home for periods
- (Preferred) Experience in commercial laundry, warewash systems, dosing systems, or plumbing
