Field Service Installation Engineer

**Permanent – £46,000 Basic + Overtime, Expenses & TOIL – Extensive International Travel

About the Role

Navis Consulting are seeking a practical, solutions-focused engineer to install, service, and maintain commercial laundry and warewash chemical dosing equipment onboard cruise ships worldwide.

This is a hands-on role suited to those who enjoy problem-solving, working in diverse environments, and delivering excellence in customer service.

Key Details:

  • Location: Flexible UK-based, with preference for candidates near Poole
  • Travel: ~75% onboard cruise ships; trips last 2–4 weeks, with holiday time in lieu

Key Responsibilities

  • Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing chemical dosing equipment for commercial laundry and warewash systems
  • Conducting fault-finding, diagnostics, and safety checks on installed machinery
  • Working with electrical and plumbing systems in a cruise ship environment
  • Supporting onboard projects alongside project managers, engineers, and contractors
  • Prepping equipment, accessories, and consumables for installation and maintenance
  • Incorporating service reports and technical documentation accurately and promptly
  • Providing technical support and training to customers, where required
  • Building strong customer relationships through professional, high-quality service

Requirements & Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 17th Edition Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a field-based or hands-on engineering role
  • Experience with 3-phase equipment
  • Exceptional fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong organisation, communication, and customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home for periods
  • (Preferred) Experience in commercial laundry, warewash systems, dosing systems, or plumbing
