🚨 Head of Field Services | Smart Metering | £55,000–£65,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance 🚨 Build a field operation. Shape the culture. Lead the future.

I'm exclusively supporting a high-growth UK energy business with the appointment of a Head of Field Services—a brand-new leadership role offering the opportunity to build and scale a Smart Metering operation from the ground up.

This is far more than a field management role. You'll be instrumental in creating the engineering function, developing operational processes, recruiting and leading engineers, and establishing a high-performing, safety-first culture that will underpin the next phase of the company's growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and leading a team of Dual Fuel Engineers.
  • Developing operational processes, compliance standards and best practice.
  • Driving performance, quality and customer excellence.
  • Coaching and developing field teams.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to scale a growing field services division.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
