Field Service Team Leader - South Wales & West

Field Service Team Leader / Specialist Engineer

Crown Lift Trucks Ltd

About the Role

We are seeking a Field Service Team Leader to enhance our Field Service Engineering (FSM) Team with specialist installation expertise and a commitment to excellence. This role will combine technical field support, resource management, and a team leadership responsibility while maintaining the highest standards in safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Field Service Manager (FSM) in daily field activities, including technical troubleshooting and installations
  • Maintain Safe Working Practices while delivering exceptional service
  • Develop strong relationships between the Engineering Team and Back Office functions
  • Lead by example in a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

Resource Management

  • Monthly performance reviews with the Field Service Manager, covering:
    • Engineer productivity (jobs/day, efficiency targets)
    • Training requirements to fill capability gaps
  • Undertake monthly PM schedules, manage Work In Progress (WIP), and coordinate with Front Desk
  • Conduct Engineer Audits to ensure adherence to company standards

Specialist Truck Installations

  • Provide technical leadership in executing complex installations per strict timelines and budgets
  • Conduct detailed site surveys to prepare for specialist installations
  • Ensure compliance with all Method Statements andRisk Assessments
  • Monitor and optimise budgetary costs for installations

Operational Excellence & Commercial Performance

  • Collaborate with the FSM to minimise down-time via maximising First-Time Fix rates
  • Feedback site performance, costs vs. revenues, and operational recommendations
  • Monitor compliance with all Government Grant operates, ensuring work is completed under MTD

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (with a 30-minute paid lunch break).

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence (valid for the work undertaken)
  • Proven experience and capability in fault-finding, diagnosis, and executing repairs inовеответственности fieldwork
  • Academic attainment including GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or equivalent)
  • Health & Safety awareness with relevant experience, aligned to workshop and outdoor practice
  • Commitment to continual personal development
  • Organisationally robust, displaying strong problem-solving clarity and resilient adaptability
  • High attention to accuracy and tenacity with work quality, resistant to rushing under pressure
  • Strong communication traits (orally and in writing) with negotiation and collaboration acumen
  • Flexibility to deploy knowledge and capabilities for multi-faceted field roles

Desirable

  • ** manufacture**-specific qualifications, such as Lorixa Awards, or equivalent Higher Education qualifications
  • Previous Team Leader experience or exposure to technical fieldženarahududge managers crées.
