Field Service Technician – Pressure Control & Wireline Solutions
About the Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and technical support of NOV Wireline and Flowline equipment, both at our Kintore facility and at customer locations worldwide.
This hands-on role combines workshop-based activities with field assignments, including offshore and international travel. Your responsibilities will include working on pressure control equipment, control modules, and wireline systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and peak performance of critical equipment integral to global operations.

Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and test NOV pressure control equipment and control modules
- Perform pressure testing (up to 22.5k PSI) while adhering to safety and quality standards
- Assemble, disassemble, and prepare components in a manufacturing/workshop environment
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation for accurate execution
- Provide technical support (remotely and on-site) to global customer locations
- Conduct field service activities, including offshore interventions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures using structured problem-solving techniques
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and company procedures
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet operational and customer requirements
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting

Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Time-served apprenticeship or HNC (or equivalent) in engineering disciplines
- Proven experience maintaining and servicing pressure control equipment and control modules
- Experience with high-pressure testing (up to 22.5k PSI)
- Strong background in assembly and manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally, including offshore assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with wireline winches and masts
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) certifications
- Valid offshore safety certifications
- Higher education (e.g., degree or HND) in engineering disciplines
Soft Skills
- Problem-solving mindset with a practical, hands-on approach
- Ability to work independently and in a close-knit team
- Adaptability for shifting environments (field and offshore conditions)
- Clear, effective communication in technical contexts
