Field Service Technician | Mechanical & Electrical
I'm recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join a global engineering business, working with advanced equipment and supporting customers throughout installation, commissioning, and ongoing service.
It's a varied role where you'll be out in the field, diagnosing problems, getting equipment up and running, and helping customers get the best possible performance from their systems.
You'll be responsible for:
- Installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining customer equipment
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults both remotely and on-site
- Providing customer training on equipment operation and maintenance
- Supporting system testing and customer trials alongside Sales and Applications teams
- Carrying out customer acceptance testing and optimizing system performance
- Producing accurate service reports and technical documentation following site visits

We're looking for someone with:
- An HNC/HND, Associate Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Ideally 5+ years' experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, or in a similar role
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fault-finding skills
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
- Experience installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining industrial equipment
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial control interfaces would be advantageous
- Confidence using diagnostic tools and test equipment
- A full, valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required
