Field Service Engineer – Scotland
The Company
Our client is a leading technology-based company with many years' experience providing specialist products and solutions for the mission-critical Emergency Services industry. They supply and maintain life-critical medical equipment, including defibrillators and patient monitoring systems, for NHS Ambulance Services across the UK.
The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer based in Scotland to join their Clinical Engineering Department. This is a field-based role covering the Scottish NHS Ambulance Trust, with occasional travel to Northern Ireland and other UK regions as required. You'll be provided with a fully equipped service van, fuel card, and mobile workshop, along with an 8-week training programme in Sheffield before taking full ownership of your territory.
What You Will Be Doing
- Servicing, calibrating, and repairing a suite of medical devices across customer regions
- Planning workload and site visits closely with the Head of Medical Engineering and Team Leader
- Liaising with the Scottish Account Engineer to arrange efficient, high-coverage site visits
- Supporting customers with technical queries, remotely and on site
- Updating and maintaining the Medical Device Database in line with Group Policies
- Managing your own stock levels and requesting replenishment in a timely manner
- Complying with internal policies to support post-market surveillance obligations
- Reacting and supporting customers across the UK in the rare event of a Field Safety Corrective Action
- Attending our client's offices for training and meetings where needed

What We Are Looking For
- Strong background in Clinical Engineering, medical devices, or another technical industry (e.g. PCB/electronics) where engineering quality is central to daily work
- Full UK driving licence
- Roughly 5 to 10 years' relevant experience
- Digitally literate, comfortable with cloud services, engineering databases, and Microsoft Office
- Proactive, confident, and resilient in demanding environments (active ambulance stations)
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload
- Cardiology or defibrillator/monitor experience advantageous but not essential
- Level 3 engineering/technical qualification (e.g. ONC) or equivalent desirable
