About the Role
This is a field-based position, requiring:
- Up to 80% travel
- Evening work and occasional weekend shifts
The Field Service Engineer will provide local and regional support across the Midlands/Birmingham region, with occasional nationwide coverage and occasional trips abroad.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Installations
- Install, configure, and support the Vision RT product portfolio at customer sites.
- Conduct site surveys to verify requirements and ensure compliance with Vision RT processes and quality standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance, upgrades, and system optimisation for sustained performance.

Remote & On-Site Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and connectivity issues via remote as well as on-site visits.
- Troubleshoot network configurations, storage, and device performance in alignment with IT best practices.
- Support Windows-based environments, including hardware, peripherals, and system configurations.
Collaborative & Regulatory Compliance
- Work with customer IT teams to resolve configuration challenges while upholding network security and data integrity.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, installation logs, and technical reports.
- Efficiently handle multiple priorities across diverse customer requirements.
Mobile & Practical Duties
- Monitor mounting and cable routing (up to 50m).
- Climbing/declimbing ladders – physical mobility required.
- Navigating congested construction sites while adhering to PPE standards and safe working protocols.
Essential Skills & Experience
Operating Systems & Troubleshooting (Windows Focus)
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Windows (configurations, device manager, disk/storage, BIOS/firmware, and services/security).
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving OS/hardware issues in customer-facing environments.
- Proficiency in system diagnostics (Event Viewer) and remote support.

Networking & Hardware Expertise
- Strong grasp of IP addressing, network protocols, and basic security.
- Windows networking tools (CLI, troubleshooting utilities) knowledge.
- Solid **-**quick recognition of PC components and ability to upgrade/replace hardware (peripherals, connectivity issues).
Soft Skills & Relational Efficiency
- Customer service mindset with excellent communication.
- Ability to work independently with prioritisation skills.
- Technical problem-solving with clear solutions to system failures.
- Proactive approach to ** проектive customer satisfaction**.
Desirable Qualifications
- Support roles within Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of SQL databases, RAID, and storage technologies.
- Exposure to healthcare technology, radiotherapy/medical imaging, or regulated tech environments.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or equivalents).
