Field Service Engineer

Manchester
£45,000 - £47,500 + Overtime

Are you a time served Mechanical or Electrical Engineer looking for a varied field based role with a growing engineering business?

I am currently working with a well established manufacturer of bespoke machinery and automated production equipment. Due to continued growth, investment and a full order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join a stable business with long term career prospects, working on a wide range of machinery within the food and packaging sectors.

The Role of a Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding and installing machinery at customer sites throughout the UK.

The Field Service Engineer will work on a variety of bespoke machinery and complete both planned maintenance and breakdown support, while also assisting with new production line installations and commissioning projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
