Field Supervisor
Field Supervisor – Lynemouth Windfarm Morpeth, Northumberland | Must be based within 1 hour | £41,157 + 10% bonus | Flexible working
About the Role
Influential and impactful, ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) is shaping the future of energy. Join our energetic team as Field Supervisor to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of our wind farms. Based in Lynemouth, you’ll manage multiple sites, coordinate issues proactively, and drive excellence in maintenance and performance.
You’ll forge strong relationships with contractors, landowners, and stakeholders while playing a pivotal role in reaching net-zero ambitions. Take charge of operational excellence; your work ensures every turbine spins toward sustainability.
What You’ll Do
- Operate and oversee assigned wind farm sites, upholding health, safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, spotting issues and driving corrective actions for operational excellence.
- Supervise maintenance and operational activities, guaranteeing work is conducted safely, efficiently, and to technical standards.
- Manage wind turbine inspections, fault response activities, and select equipment inspections (including limited HV operations).
- Monitor site performance and uphold targets and KPIs crucial to portfolio success.
- Support budget planning, resource allocation, and procedure development while liaising with landowners, emergency services, and collaborators for smooth operations.
- Act as an on-call emergency responder when required, ensuring rapid response and system resilience.

What You’ll Bring
Experience & Knowledge
- Strong electro-mechanical engineering skills, whether through:
- A recognised qualification (e.g. HNC or City & Guilds in electrical/mechanical disciplines), OR
- significant hands-on practical experience in the field.
- Practical experience working under a structured safety rule system or equivalent.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (or similar software).
Soft Skills
- Outstanding organisation and no-nonsense stakeholder relations.
- Agility to adapt quickly, embracing change as an opportunity.
- Exceptional self-motivation and proactive problem-solving mindset.
- High level of independent working, with an appreciation for minimal supervision.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a wind farm technician or supervisor.
