IT Support Specialist (Backfill/Contractor)

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and flexible IT Support Specialist (Backfill/Contractor) to deliver on-site technical assistance when full-time engineers are unavailable or required for dispatch activities. The role involves hands-on IT support across desktops, laptops, and peripherals, ensuring seamless operations for Office 365, Mac and Windows systems, and avance meeting technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site IT support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT assets.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including break-fix support.
  • Coordinate with OEM/vendors for repairs, replacements, and escalations.
  • Manage and maintain IT inventory, including asset tracking and documentation.
  • Conduct system imaging for laptops and desktops.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and install printer/network printers.
  • Assist with conference room setup, AV support, and meeting room technologies.
  • Provide VIP/end-user support with a high-touch service approach.
  • Support Office 365-related issues and general user account troubleshooting.
  • Install and troubleshoot compliance/security software.
  • Support both Mac devices and Windows systems.
  • Ensure adherence to defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and maintain knowledge base articles.
  • Assist with after-hours activities, events, and recurring meetings as required.

  • Strong knowledge of desktop/laptop troubleshooting and hardware configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware support and peripheral devices.
  • Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity).
  • Experience with printer/network printer setup and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in inventory management and vendor coordination.
  • Reliability and flexibility to cover backfill/emergency support needs.
