IT Support Specialist (Backfill Support or Freelancer)


Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and flexible IT Support Specialist (Backfill Support or Freelancer) to provide on-site technical assistance when full-time engineers are unavailable or when needed for dispatch activities.


Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site IT support for:

  • Desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices
  • Hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance (aligning with organisational standards)
  • IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT assets
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting (including break-fix support)
  • Coordination with OEM/vendors for repairs, replacements, and escalations
  • IT inventory management, asset tracking and documentation
  • System imaging for laptops and desktops
  • Printer setup, troubleshooting, and network printer installations
  • Conference room/AV support and meeting room technologies
  • VIP and end-user support with high-touch service
  • Office 365 issue resolution and general user account troubleshooting
  • Compliance/security software installation and troubleshooting
  • Support for Mac and Windows systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of desktop/laptop troubleshooting and configuration
  • Hands-on experience with hardware support and peripheral devices
  • Basic networking knowledge, including:
    • DHCP
    • DNS
    • LAN connectivity
  • Experience in printer/network printer setup and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Office 365 support
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in inventory management and vendor coordination
