Field Technician – Infrastructure Team
Location: UK-wide Division: SOCOTEC Infrastructure

SOCOTEC’s Infrastructure team delivers essential technical services ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of major construction and civil engineering projects across the UK. Our services include:
- Independent construction materials testing (verification of strength, durability, and performance)
- Foundations and pile testing to confirm ground stability
- Specialist structures and pavements assessment and analysis
- Integrated geotechnical and structural monitoring, providing real-time project data through all lifecycle stages
Using industry-leading methods and advanced technology, we support projects from initial site investigation to long-term performance, helping clients manage risk, meet regulatory standards, and build safer, more resilient assets.

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive, and flexible Field Technician to join our Infrastructure team. You must have the confidence to work independently, while also collaborating seamlessly with colleagues.
A background in site and laboratory testing of construction materials, plus knowledge of UKAS-accredited laboratory practices, is essential to succeed in this position.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include (but is not limited to):
- Sampling and testing construction materials, both on-site and in the laboratory
- Completing and accuracy checking test sheets (including all required calculations)
- Producing compliance reports in line with our QA systems
Requirements
To excel as Field Technician, you’ll need to demonstrate:
- A health and safety-focused approach to all tasks
- A valid full UK driving licence (||
- CSCS card desirable – we can facilitate this for you if needed
