Location: APC Doncaster

Business: APC is a leading global manufacturer and seller of blood-derived functional plasma proteins and red blood cells. Our ingredients enhance value across animal diets, agronomy, and other industries through unique properties that impact billions of animals, plants, and ecosystems annually.

APC (GB) Ltd manufactures pet food ingredients and operates as a joint venture between the SARIA and LGI Group, America. This is a small yet highly motivated business in Doncaster, supplying key pet food companies in the UK while distributing globally.

This is a full-time, permanent role (45 hours/week), Monday to Friday, with travel requirements across the UK. Occasional overnight stays may also be necessary.


Key Responsibilities

As a Field Technician, your duties will adapt based on business needs but will typically include:

  • Visiting abattoirs nationwide to:
    • Maintain systems and equipment
    • Report issues promptly to ensure minimal disruptions
  • Assisting with system installations at abattoirs
  • Dismantling, assembling, and diagnosing faults in mechanical components and equipment
  • Acting as an integral member of the APC technician team to ensure product quality
  • Conducting thorough investigations and corrective actions for site complaints while ensuring proper reporting
  • Keeping APC and suppliers updated with any internal or external issues highlighted
  • Performing site work (including occasional overnight stays) to uphold Health & Safety (H&S) requirements
  • Completing additional ad hoc tasks as requested by management

Requirements & Attributes

  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Achieved a minimum Grade C in GCSE Maths, English, or Science (or equivalent qualification)
  • Essential technical experience:
    • Working in continuous process/manufacturing environments
    • Hands-on experience with TIG welding and diaphragm pump systems
  • Strong ethos for safety, quality, and compliance
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and accurate
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with initiative
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively as part of a team
  • Effective both written and verbal communication
