National Field Technician – Electrical (Battery Storage Products) – UK-wide Innovative manufacturer serving construction, industrial, and rail sectors

National role requiring travel across the UK.

About the Role

As our National Field Technician, you will provide on-site servicing, maintenance, and repairs for battery storage products (e.g., VoltHub, PowerStor). Working across the UK, your responsibilities include ensuring system safety, diagnosing faults, and supporting installations—with occasional technical support tasks for other teams.

This role is reactive and flexible, supporting planned maintenance while providing emergency assistance at any UK location when needed.


Responsibilities

Servicing & Technical Support

  • Deliver national on-site technical support for battery storage servicing, diagnostics, and customer-focused troubleshooting.
  • Raise major concerns or compliance risks promptly to internal teams.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Conduct scheduled and reactive maintenance of battery storage units, including:
    • Electrical system checks
    • Hardware repairs
  • Diagnose faults efficiently to minimise downtime while adhering to H&S and quality standards.
  • Carry out any required repairs in full compliance with safety protocols.

Installations

  • Assist with on-site installation of battery products, including:
    • Electrical setup for power sources
    • Alarm system guidance

Specialised Tasks

  • Provide battery fire-risk reviews for customers (including Lithium-ion safety training).
  • Ad-hoc support: Coolant purchase, general engineering queries, and other technical requests.

Supporting Other Departments

  • Maintain strong relationships with engineering, sales, and product teams.
  • Resolve queries requiring skills across electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

Experience & Competencies

  • Proven technician background in construction, plant hire, facilities management, or similar sectors.
  • Multiskilled: Confident in basic electrical and mechanical work—e.g., testing, minor repairs, wiring.
  • Strong problem-solving, ability to work independently, and adaptability to adverse conditions.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Electrical trade qualifications preferred:
    • Level 2 or equivalent (e.g., Courtauld Institute, IET, City & Guilds)
    • 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • CSCS card is advantageous though not mandatory.
  • CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test (passed) desirable.

Logistics & Safety

  • Full UK driving license (Category B mandatory). Experience with fully-loaded vans preferred.
  • Fully DBS-checked (suitability checks will be required).
  • Comfortable with 全国旅行 (flextime for day/overnight stays) and occasional site travel.

Soft Skills

  • Technical precision with strong attention to safety processes.
  • Clear communication—handing over findings to customers/engineers effectively.
  • Can work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Salary & Benefits
