Albert Bartlett is a family-owned UK food producer and the country’s leading supplier of potatoes, supplying fresh, chilled, and frozen potato products through operations across the UK. This is an opportunity to join a business at the heart of food production, working closely with growers and internal teams to help maintain the quality, consistency, and supply of a product range relied on by customers across the market. As Fieldsperson, you will play an important role in supporting the crop supply chain from field to factory. You will work closely with growers and colleagues across the business to help protect crop quality, support planning, and ensure a reliable flow of supply, while building trusted relationships and providing clear communication throughout the season. Responsibilities Monitor crop growth, health, and yield across allocated grower farms. Conduct regular farm visits to assess crop condition and identify risks. Ensure crops meet quality, varietal, and specification standards. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with growers. Act as the key point of contact between growers and Albert Bartlett/Maincrop. Manage communication around crop progress, harvesting plans, and issues. Coordinate harvesting schedules to meet factory demand. Liaise with logistics and site teams to ensure efficient product flow. Monitor yields and volumes against forecast and contracted quantities. Support contingency planning where crop or supply issues arise. Ensure all crops meet food safety, quality, and customer specifications. Support compliance with Red Tractor, environmental, and industry standards. Complete accurate crop records, reports, and traceability documentation. Identify and escalate quality concerns at an early stage. Use internal systems to track supply performance and forecasting. Provide regular reports on crop progress, risks, and expected yields. Provide detailed QC results on day to day samples and liaise with the field team Required Qualifications Strong understanding of potato growing or arable farming practices. Holds a full UK driving licence. Eligible to work in the United Kingdom. Able to travel regularly to farms. Preferred Qualifications Experience within agriculture, fresh produce, or the food supply chain. Previous experience in a field-based agricultural or procurement role. 🌍 Why Join Us?
