AD1644 Technician (Film) - Employment at AUB

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and technically minded Technician to support students and staff across our film production facilities, and to contribute to team deliverables across Bournemouth Film School. The position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in film production support within a creative higher education environment.

The successful candidate will assist with the preparation, maintenance, loan, and operation of professional film production equipment while helping students develop safe and effective working practices. The role involves supporting a wide range of projects, from student exercises to major graduation productions.

Knowledgeable across technical areas of film production, you will support colleagues during their delivery of taught sessions, inductions, demonstrations, and workshops, drawing on your knowledge of camera, lighting, grip, sound, set construction, and/or post-production equipment and associated software. With an understanding of the practices and challenges of professional filmmaking, you will need to be conversant with good workplace health, safety, and welfare procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
