Salary: £26,300 to £32,900 per annum (FTE) Hours: 33.75 per week (0.9 FTE) Contract: Full-time, Permanent


About the Role

We are seeking a **passionate and experienced Film/Photography Senior Lecturer to join our dynamic team in Bristol. This role is key to our mission of nurturing creativity in education and inspiring the next generation of creative professionals.


Role Overview

You will deliver high-quality Film and Photography teaching, support curriculum development, mentor students, and foster industry connections. Your work will help shape innovative learning experiences that bridge theory and practice in a fast-evolving creative field.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops in Film and Photography for further education students.
  • Develop and update course content to reflect industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Provide academic advising, feedback, and mentorship to support student success.
  • Lead curriculum design, ensuring quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on best practices and interdisciplinary creative projects.
  • Maintain professional industry links to enhance student opportunities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and progression strategies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and scholarly activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree or higher qualification in Film, Photography, Media Studies, or a related creative discipline.
  • Substantial professional experience in film and/or photography, with a strong portfolio.
  • Proven teaching experience in further or higher education, demonstrating excellent pedagogical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of current industry technologies, software, and practices.
  • Ability to design innovative and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative teamwork approach.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion and student success.
  • Experience with quality assurance processes and curriculum development is desirable.
