We’re looking for someone who can build and scale a high-performing finance function in a fast-growing environment. You’ll establish the systems, controls, reporting, and financial infrastructure needed to support Axle’s next phase of growth, while balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
You’ll bring strong commercial acumen and financial leadership, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making, strengthen financial governance, and ensure the business can scale efficiently and sustainably.

This is a broad, high-impact role with significant ownership and exposure across the business, offering the opportunity to shape the financial foundations that underpin Axle’s long-term success. Axle makes money by participating in a range of energy markets, and finance is a core part of our product; it’s not just back-office.
Responsibilities
- Developing a scalable finance function, including systems, controls, processes, and reporting infrastructure
- Owning finance-based products, including financing and tolling agreements
- Owning financial reporting, monthly close, and performance insights to support strategic decision-making
- Overseeing reconciliation of trading activity, settlements, and cash movements to ensure financial accuracy
- Ensuring financial integrity through oversight of trading activity, settlements, reconciliations, and cash movements
- Managing relationships with external accounting, banking, and financial services partners, to support effective governance and growth
