Location: West London (Hybrid) Salary: Competitive package including bonus & benefits
About the Role
A private equity-backed $500m international food business is seeking a qualified Financial Reporting Accountant to serve as the Lead Finance representative for the UK and smaller EMEA subsidiaries. Reporting to the International Finance VP (USA), you will play a strategic role as the "co-pilot" of the business, taking ownership of financial reporting for a $90m growing, profit-focused region operating well-known confectionery brands.
The opportunity involves:
- Leadership – Overseeing a team and elevating financial controls to best-in-class standards.
- Driving Change – Leading a programme of system improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency, and modernise Finance operations across the company, including:
- Short- and long-term commercial finance projects.
- Integration of business planning tools.
- Strategic Reporting – Providing cost controls, timely management accounts, budgets, and accurate forecasts, alongside insights for UK Board and US PE ownership meetings.
- Compliance Management – Ensuring adherence to legal, tax, and forex requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the FP&A Controller to deliver financial accuracy and strategic insights.
- Build best-in-class financial disciplines, ensuring robust, transparent reporting.
- Develop and execute systems, processes, and forecasting tools for efficiency.
- Represent the business at high-level forums (UK Board, US PE owners).
- Lead cost optimisation and budgetary control efforts.
- Monitor and manage compliance, tax obligations, and currency fluctuations.
Person Specification
Experience & Expertise
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
- Strong familiarity with Financial IT systems.
- Preference (but not requirement) for food/drink industry knowledge.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement.
