AJ Chambers are assisting a highly established Accountancy Practice who has a clear focus on the Media industry. They are looking for an Assistant Financial Administrator, to work closely with colleagues across the firm, from Bookkeepers to Senior Partners. This provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience across multiple areas of finance and accounting while developing a strong understanding of how businesses operate.
The varied client portfolio will also give you exposure to businesses operating across many different industries.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts and Reporting
- Upload daily bank transactions into the accounting system and perform bank reconciliations.
- Complete monthly reconciliations of petty cash card accounts (Soldo) and company credit cards.
- Process employee expense claims and arrange timely payments.
- Maintain the purchase ledger, including:
- Processing and posting supplier invoices.
- Preparing supplier payment runs.
- Reconciling supplier accounts within the accounting system.
- Post disbursements and recharges to client accounts, ensuring clear and accurate supporting documentation is maintained to resolve any queries efficiently.

Client Account Services
- Prepare payment files for bank upload, ensuring all payments are fully authorised and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Perform monthly client account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Process client credit card payments by telephone in accordance with internal procedures while delivering a high standard of client service.

Skills and Experience
Essential
- AAT part-qualified, or previous experience working as a Sales Ledger or Purchase Ledger Clerk.
- Experience within an accounting or finance environment.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Software Experience
- Experience with the following is desirable:
- Microsoft 365, including Teams
- CCH
- Twinfield
- Basecone
- QuickBooks Online (QBO)
