Position Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Analyst to join the Civil Aerospace Financial Control Team based in Derby. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and comprehensive delivery of monthly financial reporting for the Civil Aerospace sector, collaborating closely with businesses, legal entities, and geographies across the organisation.

In this position, you’ll:

  • Gain deep insights into the Civil Aerospace business and its operational interdependencies
  • Work alongside senior management and external auditors
  • Develop expertise in financial systems such as SAP, HFM, VBM, and AI
  • Contribute to value-driven projects that enhance financial processes

Key Focus Areas include:

  • Monthly, annual, and ad-hoc financial reporting for Civil HQ
  • Consolidation adjustments for Civil Aerospace entities
  • Supporting value-adding financial projects (e.g., Civil-wide restructuring and process improvements)

As a Finance Analyst in the Civil Aerospace Financial Control Team, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Support period-end results (e.g., journal preparation and Balance Sheet reconciliations using Blackline)
    • Perform actuals vs forecast variance analysis, investigate anomalies, and present findings to the Reporting Finance Manager
    • Prepare and present the five-year forecast for Civil HQ to key stakeholders
  • Project Work:

    • Engage in value-adding projects ranging from large-scale transformations to smaller process improvements
    • Ad-hoc reporting requirements as directed by Civil HQ Chief Accountants
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with staff across Civil, Group, and Financial Service Centre
    • Liaise with stakeholders across multiple regions to ensure code-to-earnings accuracy

Requirements

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Proven finance experience in residual transition and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical skills with a track record for timely, high-quality work
  • Multimatrix competency: Strong problem-solving, judgment, and resilience
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP
  • Essential: Advanced Excel skills, including matrix operations and complex modelling
