Finance Analyst

FP&A Analyst – South Normanton, Derbyshire

An established manufacturing business is hiring an FP&A Analyst in Alfreton, Derbyshire, to enhance financial planning and analysis for its global operations. This is a newly created FP&A Analyst role in the East Midlands, reporting to the Finance Director and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis as part of continued business growth.

The role is site-based in South Normanton, requiring a five-day weekly presence, with some flexibility in start/finish times.

This is an autherentic opportunity to join a growing manufacturing group during a period of investment and expansion. Based at the heart of the international finance team, the selected FP&A Analyst will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across multiple markets, gaining direct exposure to how a multi-site manufacturer develops plans, forecasts business priorities, and drives data-driven decision-making. The role carries high visibility, both locally and within the broader group—a great step for ambitious finance professionals in the Midlands.


The Role

As the FP&A Analyst, you will own the budgeting and forecasting cycle for the international division, transforming data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making. You will partner with commercial and operational teams, question assumptions, and guide how the group prepares for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, and review of the annual budgets for the international operation
  • Build and maintain rolling forecasts, ensuring prudent assumptions and clear analytical transparency
  • Deliver monthly variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, explaining the underlying drivers of financial movements
  • Develop financial models to support scenario planning and commercial decision-making
  • Conduct manufacturing and cost analysis, including:
    • Margin assessment
    • Product cost breakdowns
    • Overhead reviews
  • Prepare concisely crafted management reports for the Finance Director and the broader leadership team
  • Contribute to the improvement and standardisation of FP&A processes, reporting frameworks, and analytical tools

Your Experience & Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate a manufacturing background, combined with at least 2+ years of experience in either commercial finance or FP&A roles. Essential requirements include:

  • Direct manufacturing industry experience with a strong understanding of operational dynamics
  • Proven expertise in budgeting and forecasting, with the skills to own financial data scrutiny
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling proficiency—Power BI experience is a notable advantage
  • Excellent informational communication skills, enabling smooth financial discussions with non-finance stakeholders
