Blue Light Card. Individually great, together unstoppable
The Role and the Team
FP&A at Blue Light Card is in a genuinely exciting moment. We're building out our analyst capability for the first time, hiring three brand new Finance Analyst roles across our Commercial, Growth, and Cost & Planning teams as we scale our analytical depth to match BLC's continued growth. These aren't roles where you'll be picking up someone else's work, they're an opportunity to introduce new insights, build reporting from the ground up, and make a genuine mark on how BLC understands and drives its performance.
This Finance Analyst role sits within the Commercial team, partnering closely with our Partnerships and RevOps teams to bring greater clarity and rigour to our commercial revenue streams. With affiliate reporting moving to our data warehouse and increasing complexity across partner channels, there's real work to do here, and real impact to make.
You'll own the insight behind some of BLC's most commercially significant revenue lines. From building clearer pictures of partner performance to forecasting against specific revenue streams like cinema, you'll work with a wide range of data points and bring structure, narrative, and recommendations to the teams who need it.
What You'll Do
- Support budgeting and forecasting across commercial revenue, combining financial plans with operational performance data to produce accurate, decision-ready forecasts in partnership with senior stakeholders
- Own regular performance reporting across commercial revenue streams, defining KPIs, automating recurring packs where possible, and creating clear narratives on what's changed and why
- Perform variance and driver analysis using system data (including partner activity, trading performance, and revenue by channel) to identify root causes and recommend actions
- Deliver revenue and margin deep-dives by segment, channel, and product, translating trends into commercial recommendations that influence priorities
- Partner with Partnerships, RevOps, and Data teams to provide timely, impactful insight, supporting higher-quality commercial reporting and decision-making
- Contribute to improving data quality and metric consistency across commercial reporting, aligning definitions and documenting assumptions so outputs are trusted across the business
- Support the long-term forecast model, including scenario and sensitivity analysis to inform executive decision-making
- Help track the ROI on commercial investment decisions and the impact of partner activity on growth and profitability

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
