Purpose of the role
The Finance Analyst is based within the UK Finance team and provides day-to-day finance support and analysis, including through business partnering, resourcing and month-end processes. The Finance Analyst is the key point of contact for timesheets and resourcing analysis, providing the insights that help to answer the key business questions. At month end the Finance Analyst will support on cost and revenues review to ensure that these are posted into the correct place.
Core Responsibilities
Resourcing and Business Partnering
- Act as the UK finance champion and first point of contact for the timesheet system, ensuring projects, time allocations and data quality are maintained.
- Act as finance business partner for key accounts, supporting regular reviews with Directors and Account Directors.
- Prepare and circulate servicing and resourcing reports, highlighting key trends such as over-servicing and utilisation.
- Maintain resource trackers for key clients, working with client service teams to ensure reports are understood and acted upon.
- Support wider resourcing analysis, including pricing learnings, project performance and ad hoc commercial queries.

Month End
- Support month-end reporting across revenue, costs and profitability, ensuring postings are accurate and correctly allocated.
- Prepare Central HQ OPEX postings, analysis and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and post cost splits across relevant cost centres.
- Support gross profit reconciliations, reviewing actual revenue and costs against forecast and identifying required accruals or deferrals.
- Analysis of key cost categories to ensure cost effectiveness.
Balance Sheet and Compliance
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
- Support audit preparation by collating evidence and responding to queries within areas of responsibility.
General
- Maintain accurate finance trackers and reporting tools, ensuring data is complete, timely and reliable.
- Support improvements to reporting processes, controls and ways of working across the UK Finance team.
- Work collaboratively with finance and non-finance colleagues, acting as a helpful point of contact for finance-related queries.

Requirements
- Actively studying towards accounting qualifications (ACCA/CIMA), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in a finance analyst, finance assistant, or accounts role.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills, comfortable working with data trackers, reports and reconciliations.
- Good communication skills, with confidence liaising with non-finance stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative approach to working within a small finance team.
