Finance Analyst - Clinical Operations

Finance Manager – Global Clinical Segment

Main Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the Executive Finance Director, providing analytical, reporting, and decision-support across the global Clinical Segment, while collaborating closely with both local site leadership and global management teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain executive-level dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Smartsheets, Excel, and other business intelligence tools, providing clear visibility into:
    • Segment performance
    • Key financial metrics
    • Operational KPIs
    • Business trends
  • Analyse complex financial and operational data to identify:
    • Trends
    • Risks
    • Opportunities
    • Performance drivers Translate data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare high-quality board-level materials and executive reporting packs for:
    • Budget
    • Forecasting
    • Executive Committee (EC)
  • Ensure information is accurate, concise, and impactful for leadership meetings.
  • Support the following processes through detailed analysis and commentary:
    • Monthly close
    • Forecasting
    • Annual planning
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, forecasting, and planning through:
    • Automation
    • Standardisation
    • Enhanced data visualisation
    • Implementation of best-practice reporting solutions
  • Support:
    • Investment appraisals
    • Capital expenditure reviews
    • Business case development
    • Strategic decision-making through robust financial analysis and recommendations
  • Contribute to cross-functional business improvement projects and corporate finance initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve:
    • Visibility
    • Efficiency

Work Experience & Skills Required

  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • Financial planning
    • Analysis
    • Finance-related roles
  • Advanced and demonstrated proficiency with:
    • Power BI
    • Excel
    • Other MS Office tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to:
    • Interpret complex financial data
    • Translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent:
    • Written communication
    • Oral communication
    • Attention to detail
  • Well-organised, flexible, and easily adaptable to changing conditions.
  • Ability to:
    • Work under pressure
    • Meet deadlines
    • Manage conflicting priorities
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to:
    • Work independently
    • Require minimal direction
  • High energy, high ownership, and dedication to delivering results.
  • Willing to travel on an occasional basis to support business and project requirements.

  • Experience with:
    • Oracle JDE
    • OneStream

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Professional financial qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrable experience gained within a:
    • Manufacturing environment
    • Preferred: Pharmaceutical sector

Regulatory/Industry Responsibilities

  • Adherence to:
    • PCI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Health, Safety and Environmental Rules
    • General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • Other regulatory guidelines
