Job Description Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to influence business performance within our Transport businesses, working closely with senior leaders and Finance Business Partners to support decision-making and strategic delivery.


About This Opportunity

The Transport business is undergoing significant transformation, modernising customer platforms while navigating major industry changes, including the transition to electric vehicles and evolving market conditions.

As part of the Planning & Performance Reporting team, you will:

  • Deliver insights, reporting, and planning to support strategic decision-making across Transport and Retail Finance.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders, influence business outcomes, and gain exposure to a fast-changing and highly visible area of the business.

Location: Primary site is Cardiff Temple Court, with additional office access in Bristol Harbourside, Chester, and Leeds. Working Pattern: Hybrid, requiring at least two days on-site (or 40% in-person) per week.


The Role: Responsibilities

The role includes:

  • Communicating business performance and aiding future business projections through the planning process.
  • Delivering high-quality month-end reporting, ensuring robust controls, and acting as a specialist in management accounting.
  • Developing collaboration across Finance teams through strong networking and communication.
  • Aligning with individual and team objectives while continuously improving skills and capabilities.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified (or near-qualified) chartered accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • 12+ months’ experience in:
    • Analysing business performance and explaining key drivers to senior leadership.
    • Maintaining strong financial controls within the core finance function.
  • Leadership through change – Demonstrated improvements to current processes, challenging the status quo, and questioning assumptions.
  • A high collaborator, with exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with across departments.

Desirable:

  • Experience in planning/budgeting or monthly performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with financial services (e.g., lending, consumer finance).
  • Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint and Microsoft Office tools.
