About the Company
Blue Light Card is seeking a Finance Analyst to join its Cost & Planning team. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to help build the company's financial analysis capability by delivering meaningful insights, improving reporting processes, and supporting strategic financial planning. About the Role
The Finance Analyst supports budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost management across the organization. Working closely with budget holders and cross-functional teams, this role provides data-driven insights, improves financial reporting processes, and helps drive informed business decisions through accurate financial analysis.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support operating expense (OPEX) budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting activities across multiple business functions.
- Develop and maintain accurate financial models and long-term forecast assumptions.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and performance dashboards for business leaders.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.

Reporting & Business Partnering
- Partner with budget holders to monitor spending and provide actionable financial insights.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and financial reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing business cases, investment analyses, and scenario planning.
- Present financial information and recommendations to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Data Management & Process Improvement
- Maintain high standards of data quality, consistency, and financial controls.
- Improve reporting processes and documentation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support headcount, software licensing, and operational cost reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and Power Query.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.

Preferred
- Progress toward a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or an equivalent certification.
- Experience with headcount planning, software licensing analysis, or operational cost management.
- Experience developing financial models and business cases.
