Job Description: Group VAT & Intercompany Accountant

Within the team, this role reports to the Group Reporting Accountant and is responsible for:
- The preparation and compliance of group VAT submissions, along with contributing to the monthly and annual closure processes
- Leading the intercompany recharge process for the UK business
Make an Impact
- Leading the preparation of monthly VAT returns, ensuring detailed analysis and Group compliance for one of Edrington’s VAT Groups
- Ensuring appropriate administrative record-keeping and reconciliation of duty accounts, covering all excise, duty, and VAT payments on imports
- Conducting account reconciliations for VAT and intercompany recharge accounts
- Ensuring key month-end journals are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Working with the Group Accountant to prepare monthly Group KPIs, including co-ordination and preparation of inputs to the reporting tool (Web Intelligence) and analysis of output
- Handling ad hoc manual invoicing for group recharges and other non-standard sales
- Preparation of select subsidiary statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS/FRS101
- Collaborating with the Group Accountant to prepare certain notes for inclusion in the Group statutory accounts per IFRS standards
- Reviewing and analysing monthly intercompany balances, working with Accounts Payable/Receivable and overseas teams to ensure complete and accurate postings at month-end

Your Talent And Skills
- Educated to HND level, preferably within Finance or Business Administration
- Part-qualified accountant or a candidate seeking to begin professional accountancy studies, with the opportunity to receive company-sponsored qualification support
- Previous Finance background, accounts payable or VAT reporting experience desirable
- PC literate, with strong Microsoft skills (especially Excel)
- Prior exposure to SAP, Analysis for Office (AFO), and Web Intelligence (WebI) desirable but not essential
- must possess analytical skills and the ability to manage complexity under time constraints
- Able to interact, influence, and challenge in cross-functional teams
- Strong organisational abilities to support all enquiries and a high volume, varied workload
- Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset
