Finance Analyst
Finance Analyst – Expense & Allocation | Legal & General (L&G)

Job Description
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Finance Analyst to support expense management and allocation processes across L&G. This role will give you exposure to financial reporting, controls, and process improvement in a collaborative environment, ideal for those starting or advancing their finance career.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting allocated expense reporting (actuals, forecast, and plan) to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Processing allocation rule updates, completing reconciliations, and producing month-end MI and reporting outputs
- Managing ledger period closes, maintaining the chart of accounts, and supporting fixed asset processes
- Preparing and posting journals, resolving outstanding items via reconciliations
- Producing VAT returns, statutory reporting files, and consolidated reconciliation packs
- Collaborating with finance teams to refine expense, fixed asset, and allocation processes, resolving queries
- Delivering ad hoc analytical support and MI insights for business stakeholders
- Identifying process improvements and contributing to system enhancements/automation

Who We’re Looking For:
- Studying towards or part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent experience in an analytical finance role
- Hands-on experience with reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting in a finance function
- Strong accounting system know-how, including ledger postings and reconciliations
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, with experience integrating data from multiple systems
- Familiarity with Oracle (or similar systems) and MI tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Clear communication and relationship-building across teams
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, with a passion for challenging processes and driving continuous improvement
