Finance Analyst, SBU
Finance Analyst – Stocks Business Unit (SBU), Strathclyde Business Park
This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Finance Analyst or an aspiring professional looking to advance in finance. You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insight, planning, and control across our Stocks Business Unit, ensuring strong financial governance and compliance with Group policies and external requirements.
Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on, high-visibility role, your responsibilities will include:

Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Support the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and year-end processes
- Assist with Group reporting requirements, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Provide meaningful financial insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making

Budgeting & Forecasting
- Actively contribute to the budgeting and forecasting cycle
- Set, challenge, and track financial assumptions and performance
- Identify adjustments where necessary to optimise financial projections

Working Capital Management
- Monitor and optimise working capital, with a focus on inventory, wood, and warehouse logging
- Maintain robust financial controls aligned with internal policies and external accounting standards

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with finance and operational teams to improve processes
- Provide actionable insights and decision support for business improvements

- Ad Hoc & Strategic Support
- Contribute to spirit ratio calculations and related financial analysis
- Support project-based initiatives across the business
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a qualified accountant with:
✅ Strong Excel (advanced) and analytical skills – able to transform data into clear, actionable insights ✅ Financial reporting, budgeting, or forecasting experience (preferred, but fast learners are also welcome) ✅ Comfortable communicating with stakeholders across finance and operations ✅ Proveuctive mindset – able to solve problems, improve processes, and take ownership of tasks ✅ Ability to adapt quickly in a collaborative, dynamic team environment
