Role Description
The Finance and Commercial Operations Director is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for overseeing financial management and driving commercial performance across the business. This role includes leading budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial reporting, as well as building processes to monitor profitability and key performance indicators. The Director will manage commercial operations such as pricing strategy, membership and product offerings, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Partnering with leadership on growth initiatives
- Optimizing operational workflows
- Ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory requirements
- Providing data-driven insights to support strategic decisions
The role also involves:
- Mentoring team members
- Coordinating with coaches and front-of-house staff on operational standards
- Contributing to a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
- Experience in commercial operations such as pricing strategy, revenue optimization, and membership or subscription models.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, data analysis, and performance tracking using spreadsheets and financial software.
- Background in process improvement, operational efficiency, and implementing scalable systems and controls.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and present complex information clearly.
- Prior leadership experience managing teams or projects in finance, operations, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related discipline; professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are a plus.
- Experience in the fitness, leisure, hospitality, or subscription-based services sector is beneficial.
- Comfort working on-site in a dynamic gym environment and aligning financial and commercial decisions with member experience.
