Role Description

The Finance and Commercial Operations Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for overseeing Gymnasium’s financial management and commercial performance. Day-to-day tasks include:

This person will collaborate closely with coaching, sales, and marketing teams to ensure that financial and commercial plans support member experience and business growth. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and refining processes
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Supporting strategic decision-making as Gymnasium scales

Qualifications

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience in commercial operations, such as pricing strategy, revenue optimization, and performance analysis.
  • Comfort working with data and tools (e.g., spreadsheets, financial software, CRM systems) to generate insights and support decisions.
  • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to design, implement, and refine operational workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and coaching teams.
  • Prior experience in fitness, hospitality, or membership-based businesses is beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
