Talisman Specialty Underwriters

Talisman Specialty Underwriters is a growing Managing General Agent (MGA) in the specialty insurance market; with an established US business and a UK presence that's now around two years old. We underwrite across P&C and Marine lines, working closely with brokers, coverholders and capacity providers across both markets. Our UK team is positioned as a centre of excellence and we're in an exciting phase of growth.

Finance & Credit Control Assistant

We're now looking for a Finance & Credit Control Assistant to join our small, close-knit team - a place where everyone has visibility, impact, and direct exposure to leadership, including at Board level.

Purpose of the Role

This is a junior finance role supporting the Credit Controller in the day-to-day running of the function - maintaining accurate reporting, tracking outstanding payments, and liaising with stakeholders across the UK and US to support timely collections. It's an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting, keen to gain hands-on experience working alongside the Financial Controller, Credit Control and Underwriting teams to help manage the business's cash flow - whether studying towards a qualification or building on early accounts experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
