About The Role…

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in Finance while gaining a recognised professional qualification?

As a Finance Apprentice within our Water and Infrastructure Finance team, you will provide valuable support to the Finance function while working towards a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent). This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and finance activities while developing your knowledge, skills and career within a supportive environment.

Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the Finance team while building a strong foundation for a successful future in accounting and finance.

As a Finance Apprentice you will…

  • Assist with the production of sales invoices.
  • Process purchase invoices and liaise with colleagues across the business to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support cash collection activities.
  • Allocate customer receipts and supplier payments accurately.
  • Prepare helpful analyses of costs and revenues.
  • Produce cost centre reports.
  • Prepare and post accounting journals.
  • Assist with monthly finance activities, including statements, reconciliations, credit card analysis and timesheet processing.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider finance team with administrative tasks.
  • Work towards achieving a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent) alongside your role.

About You…

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a keen interest in building a career in Finance.

You will have:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Finance and Accounting.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and teamwork abilities.
  • The ability to work accurately and meet strict deadlines.
  • Good planning, prioritisation and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service.
