Role Type: 3-year Apprenticeship Programme (subject to successful completion of AAT qualification)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 17:00)

Salary: £20,869 to £24,500 per annum, dependent on age.

About The Programme

Our three-year Finance Apprenticeship combines practical experience at Grainger & Worrall with a fully funded AAT qualification, delivered through a local college on a day-release basis.

This is a blended learning programme, meaning you will divide your time between:

  • On-the-job learning (typically 4 days per week) within our finance team
  • Off-the-job learning (typically 1 day per week) at college, studying towards your AAT qualification

At College, You Will

  • Develop core knowledge in accounting principles and finance processes
  • Complete coursework, assignments and assessments
  • Build the knowledge required to progress through AAT levels

With Grainger & Worrall, You Will

  • Apply your learning in a real business environment
  • Gain experience across key finance functions
  • Receive structured training and support throughout the programme
  • Be part of a growing team during a period of business transformation

Your Finance Rotation Journey

Over the three years, you’ll follow a structured rotation pathway designed to build broad capability across the finance function:

Year 1 – Early Year 2

  • Accounts Payable (approx. 9 months)
  • Credit Control (approx. 9 months)

Year 2 – Year 3

  • Cash Management (6 months)
  • Payroll (6 months)
  • Management Accounts (6 months)

Alongside your main rotation, you’ll gain exposure to wider finance activities, including business change projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting day-to-day finance processes across different teams
  • Processing transactions accurately and maintaining financial records
  • Assisting with reconciliations and reporting activities
  • Supporting month-end and periodic finance tasks
  • Responding to internal and external queries
  • Learning to use finance systems and Excel effectively
  • Contributing ideas to improve processes and ways of working

Who We’re Looking For

  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to travel to site and college.
