⏰ 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:00pm

At Davies, we're looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Claims Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your finance career within a fast-paced and supportive environment where your work has a direct impact on our clients, suppliers and colleagues across the business.
You'll be responsible for managing client monies, completing financial reconciliations, resolving queries and producing insightful reports, all while working alongside experienced professionals who will support your ongoing development.
What will your day look like:
As a Finance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day management of client and contractor finances. Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing bank-to-bordereaux reconciliations using Excel and issuing these to clients.
- Performing supplier and contractor reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Producing daily and weekly management reports for internal stakeholders.
- Recording receipts, credits and financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Processing payments through online banking platforms.
- Managing cheque processing, including incoming and outgoing payments.
- Processing Davies fee payments and invoices.
- Producing and issuing client invoices.
- Making CIS tax, retention and ex-gratia payments within agreed service levels.
- Supporting bank account application processes.
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies and payment queries.
- Escalating issues where required and recommending solutions.
- Responding to queries from both internal teams and external clients.
- Building strong working relationships with colleagues across the Davies Group and our client network.
- Ensuring client monies are monitored and controlled in line with company procedures.
- Taking ownership of your personal development and identifying training opportunities.
- Supporting process improvements and maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Adhering to company systems, controls and procedures at all times.

Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering excellent service.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong team player who can also work independently when required.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous reconciliation experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
