Finance Assistant

We are looking for an organised finance assistant to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of CACE’s accounts. The role is 1 day/week based in our Macclesfield office.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate financial records and accounts are maintained and timely processing of purchase orders and invoices
  • Recording of the Salaries & Pensions & the HMRC regular payments
  • Raising cheques and electronic payments
  • Liaising with suppliers, funders and partner providers
  • Banking cheques/cash and withdrawing funds for petty cash where necessary
  • Accurate input of financial data relating to income and expenditure across projects
  • Processing staff and volunteer expenses
  • Assisting with monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations, provision of financial information and reports and in preparing accounts for annual audit

You must be able to demonstrate understanding of accrual and cash flow accounting, and have experience of working autonomously and taking responsibility to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

You must have experience of using QuickBooks or similar accounting package, together with a range of IT packages to record and monitor data i.e. Google sheets and Microsoft Excel. Accountancy qualifications are an advantage.

You must understand, and be able to commit to, and work within, the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service.
