The Role

We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our central finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager. This is a varied and rewarding role within an evolving finance function, offering exposure across financial accounting, reporting, cash management and financial controls. You’ll play an important part in supporting the day-to-day finance operations while helping to ensure accurate reporting and efficient financial processes across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist with monthly and year-end reporting activities across the business
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce analysis of key sections of the profit and loss account
  • Support general ledger activities and provide assistance during audit processes

Cash Management & Transactions

  • Prepare and analyse weekly Group cash flow forecasts using submissions from regional business units
  • Process daily cash receipts and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Support weekly and ad-hoc payment runs through the banking system
  • Help maintain strong financial controls across business transactions

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors and client representatives to resolve queries
  • Support the wider finance team in delivering high-quality financial information and services

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute positively to creating a continuous improvement culture within the finance team
  • Take ownership of allocated month-end tasks and ensure completion in line with agreed deadlines
  • Support ad-hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives as required

About You

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will bring:

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or accounting support role
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of reconciliations, transactional finance or financial reporting activities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
