What you'll be doing:

- Post supplier invoices and maintain accurate financial records within internal systems.
- Maintain and update the vendor database to ensure supplier information remains accurate.
- Prepare payment proposals for review and approval.
- Process and reconcile employee expense claims, including supporting the senior leadership team with expense reporting.
- Assist with the administration and reconciliation of company credit cards.
- Support accounts receivable activities, including raising customer invoices and communicating with external clients where required.
- Input bookkeeping transactions, purchasing activity, payments, and expenses into the company's finance systems.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
- Support the Finance Director with administration relating to share option schemes, including option grants, exercises, and annual HMRC reporting.
- Assist with the administration of the company's insurance arrangements.
- Work alongside the Finance Director to support the implementation and continuous improvement of finance processes, business systems, and bank reconciliations.
- Provide ad hoc administrative and finance support as the business evolves.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
